We Are the Results of Our Choices

Being faithful to our covenants is often a difficult task, but it’s worth the effort because we are blessed when we are obedient.
One of the most important things we can do in our lives is to set goals. Goals give us direction to build the life or future we want. If we want a big house, we must set a goal and do what is necessary to achieve it. Everything we want in life has a price, and if we want it, we must be willing to pay the price to get it.
The most important skill or quality you can develop is discipline, which is the ability to do what you say you will do, whether you feel like it or not. This principle works in the gospel as well. When we were baptized, we made covenants with the Savior and Heavenly Father; we promised to be obedient, attend church, and endure to the end, and in exchange, He promised us the companionship of the Holy Ghost. Sometimes we do not feel like going to church, reading the scriptures, or doing any church-related activity, but if we do not do those things, the Holy Ghost won’t be with us because we are not keeping our promises.
Keeping our word is very important because it makes people trust us, and that makes a huge difference. The big difference between people who achieve great things in life and people who do not is that those who achieve them are willing to do what is necessary to achieve their dreams and keep the commandments.
