The Importance of Accuracy in Sacred Scripture

The Book of Mormon, as it says in the introduction, is a volume of sacred scripture similar to the Bible, written by prophets inspired by God. The message is clear and easy to understand, but if it had grammatical errors, it would damage the book’s credibility and it would distract the reader from the main message and the spiritual teachings.
Something I love about the Book of Mormon is that it was translated directly from the language in which it was written, whereas the Bible has gone through different translations and alterations, so depending on the version you have, the message could be different and misinterpreted.
Something the prophet Joseph Smith mentioned was that the Book of Mormon was the most correct book on earth and that a man would get closer to God by reading and applying the teachings of this book than by any other book.
For a long time, I was reflecting on why it was the most correct book on earth. As I was reading in Third Nephi, when Christ came to America, he asked the prophet to bring the plates, and he himself analyzed the scriptures and confirmed that it was correct. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon directly from the plates, and that is why we know it is the most correct book: it has not been altered.
Grammar is very important because it says a lot about the person who writes, and without it, the message can be misinterpreted and lead the audience in the wrong direction.
